  • Who makes this stuff?

Craig Bennett. He received a degree in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia. He moved to Atlanta in 1991, to paint paintings, sing songs, and film films.

  • Please share with us the Guh Guh and Phangs creation myth.

One day, while remodeling his kitchen, Craig took a break from the arduous task of tearing out old cabinets and knocking out walls and flooring. Wanting to create, he began sketching on the discarded building materials that had been thrown into the yard. A figure suddenly took shape, and on that windswept autumnal eve, Guh Guh was born. Soon after, Craig found some left-over plywood and created a new character: the less sinister, yet more haunting, Phangs.

Unsatisfied with commercial Halloween decorations, Craig continued to make his own: life size witches and ghouls roughly cut from plywood. What began as decorations for his neighborhood Halloween party quickly became “Guh Guh and Phangs Haunted Art.” As interest began to grow, Craig began attending arts festivals in the Atlanta, Ga. area, winning the Peoples Choice Award at the East Atlanta Arts Festival in 2007.

  • Does the creator of Guh Guh and Phangs really care about the people who visit this site?

Yes. He has made every attempt to satisfy your lust for the absurd, the macabre, the goofy and obscure with an array of handcrafted wooden collectibles and bric-a-brac. He has been meeting and exceeding the Halloween decorative needs of a handful of people since 2005.
